Don’t panic! Here are some creative ideas for those last-minute gifts that you were not expecting to need! Good for a hostess gift or a fellow office worker that gave you a gift and you feel obligated to give in return.
How about downloading a menu for a favorite or nearby restaurant and wrapping an IOU for lunch. All you need is a small box and a nice handwritten note. Quick and very personal. I am sure that will save the day!!
A nice hostess gift for a last-minute party could be picked up at the grocery store, wrap and all. Instead of a bottle of wine, why not a wine bottle opener. For the cook or baker there are lots of cool gadgets available!! Then just wrap it in brown paper or a large leaf and garnish with wine cork or a recipe card with a fab appetizer or cocktail recipe.
Or, just grab a brown paper bag and attach a pretty ribbon with an ornament, gift tag, of snip of greenery. Put a gift card for movies, or McDonald’s is always a favorite for the kids!
I have found that presentation is sometimes more important than what’s inside. It gives a sense of wonder that someone put so much thought into the gift. ( They don’t have to know that it was last minute)
My best advice is always be prepared, and if not be creative!
Don’t let the little things stress you out.
Remember the reason for the season, take a breath and enjoy…donnajean
